To
be precise on what I have learned from this week, I would say that God is very concerned
in every date in church history. This may sound funny since this is a Church
history class and we are dealing with dates but what I mean on dates is that
God has His own perfect timing. I don’t know why God put up so many dates in
the history of his church or why God allowed many circumstances happen in the
church but I think one thing is certain. I think God wants me to look back what
had happened in the past.
It’s already been my habit to recall
memories in the past whenever I sleep or whenever I daydream. I always love to
recall happy thoughts. I find it as a joy in my heart whenever I remember them.
From this week’s lesson, I think God is telling me to be not self-centered. I
think he wants me not just to remember my own personal experience in the past.
I think he wants me to remember also what had happened in the church in the
past. He wants me to value the things that happened in the past so that I would
hold my faith in him tight and to understand things.
One specific thing to do in order to
work the change that I will make is to learn more of church history. I will
listen well to the reporter and to ask questions whenever I’m in confusion.
Before I sleep, I should think of what the church fathers had done in the past
and try to get something out from their courage and faith. Maybe by doing this,
I could value more the dates that God implanted in the past and not to think
often on my own personal experience. Maybe I could lend sometime thinking of
them but I think remembering what God hath done during the early church would
beneficial for my spiritual walk with God.
